Diesel Fuel Economy

The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process allows for the optimization of the diesel engine, resulting in increased diesel fuel-efficiency of 3-5% in Class 8 heavy duty trucks. In fact, the use of SCR to control nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions allows diesel engines to be tuned for peak fuel efficiency. As a result, diesel engines operating with SCR technology are typically more fuel-efficient than comparable engines using alternative emission control technologies.

Current growth and reliability tests across North America using SCR-equipped trucks reflect between 3-5% in fuel savings in all of the most common diesel engine applications.
