An online study conducted in November 2008 for the SCR Stakeholders Group indicates that 53% of truck buyers would likely consider purchasing SCR emissions technology to meet the 2010 standards - a figure that is nearly double the consideration rate for increased EGR. The number that said that they would be VERY LIKELY to consider SCR is nearly three times the level that are very likely to consider increased EGR (29.4% for SCR compared to 10.8% for increased EGR.)
The study was conducted by Quixote Group Research in conjunction with Heavy Duty Trucking magazine. Results are based on 828 respondents, all of whom have purchase authority or directly influence the purchase of class 8 over-the-road trucks.
